In a team of four, we developed an automatic card dealer. The concept is shown below. The user is prompted on the LCD to input the number of players and number of cards (per player) using the key pad. Then, the dealer rotates in increments determined by the number of players using a stepper motor. The card is then dispensed using an additional stepper motor.
The mechanical assembly of the dealer was designed in SolidWorks and then printed using PLA. Two arduinos were used: one master arduino controlled the algorithm to dispense as well as take the user inputs; the other arduino was communicated with to run the motors. The project resulted in a letter grade of A+.
